Welcome to Protecting Deep Blue!
My name is Keira, and I am a marine biologist based in South Florida. I earned my B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of South Florida’s St. Petersburg campus. Currently, I serve as a Marine Plastics Ambassador for EarthEcho International, where I am working to reduce plastic pollution and advocate for policies that regulate the use of single-use plastics in Florida.
Growing up along Florida’s Treasure Coast inspired my passion for marine conservation and protecting the ecosystems that make our state unique. Through this platform, I hope to educate, inspire, and empower others to take action for our oceans.
Looking ahead, I plan to attend graduate school and specialize in elasmobranch research, focusing on sharks and rays.
